Intro

Do you realise that as you progress at work the likelihood of feeling stress goes up as well? What do you think you can do about this?

Essence

LinkedIn recently released a stress report. According to the survey approximately 50% of people feel stressed at work. The number one cause is workload or work-life balance. Gen X are most stressed and the more senior people are, the higher their stress level.

What's the cause (in my opinion)

As you become more senior your responsibilities at work go up. Often this is the case in your personal life as well - think family and children. As a result your subjective experience is that you don't have enough time. As a consequence self-care is often neglected. Often you spend less time on growth and development. This is mirrored in most organisations, which tend to spend much more time developing people who are lower down the chain compared to managers and executives.

This is where programmes for executives like the one I offer can really add value. They allow managers and executives to take care of themselves in the most practical and effective way. This happens through effective diet and exercise integrated smoothly into their life. Also, they have a platform for continuous growth and development. All this is supported by personalised coaching experience.

This need not be...

The pervasiveness of stress at work is neither normal nor necessary. With the right attitude and willingness to invest in yourself you can certainly reduce the stress in your life.

Facing pressures is natural but the stress response can be modulated by how we respond to them. By taking care of ourselves in a holistic way we can mitigate the negative physical and mental health consequences.

Thanks for watching/reading and see you next time.
